I aim to help clients work through their problems to have a more enjoyable life. I use an integrative therapy approach incorporating person centered therapy techniques (focuses on building strong rapport and respect between client and therapist) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in order to assist clients in improving their thinking patterns. I am also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) which helps children and adolescents deal with their trauma through a cognitive and narrative approach.
With 11 years of experience in the mental health field working in all settings (inpatient, outpatient, residential, intensive day treatment, substance use, & emergency department), my expertise can help bring change to your life, whether you are suffering from an adjustment, past trauma(s), anxiety, or a sex addiction.
Along with serving clients in face to face therapy, I invite clients throughout the states of Alabama, Georgia, & New Hampshire to work with me through telemental health services. We meet on video through our HIPAA secure platform and work on goals just like we would in face to face. I have been providing telemental health services since 2015.
I have also had the honor and opportunity of previously working and interviewing with Dr. Irvin Yalom in regards to group therapy, dreamwork, and benefits of telemental health therapy, specifically an in depth look at the differences between face to face and telemental health therapy from both of our experiences.

My personal perspective is that we all face life events, anticipated and unexpected, that contribute to self-doubt and insecurities. My therapeutic perspective is that we may need guidance, support, reassurance, and an objective perspective in facing life's challenges head on and making a lifelong, healthy change. Being a therapist has allowed me to be a part of one's journey in regaining balance, stability, and overall life happiness. I strive to aid others in improving their relationships, aspirations, and over all mental health. I accept both individuals and couples.

I use an integrative approach to help each client find solutions. Thinking, feeling, and personal history connect in ways that form unique personal experiences. My integrative approach uses a variety of methods to support healing and growth rather than an one size fits all approach. I work as a partner with clients to sift through the confusion that often comes with stress, depression, anxiety, and trauma.
I have worked in a variety of settings to include hospitals, rehabilitation, day programs and private practice. I am trained in an unique approach known as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). EMDR can be an effective way to address the lingering effects of disturbing life experiences. For more information about EMDR therapy, you can visit http://www.emdr.com/what-is-emdr/. I look forward to working with you!

Why "Pearl"?
"How a pearl is formed has always been a fascinating natural change process to me. The organism takes an irritant and with its natural defenses, makes something beautiful out of it. It takes time, but slowly, the irritant forms into something unique and of great value, the pearl. This process has always reminded me of how we encounter different obstacles but can always move through them and come out better and stronger on the other side."
- Founder of Pearl Behavioral Health Services
The organization was founded in 2015 and in 2018, expanded to include additional mental health providers.
Pearl Behavioral Health Services was founded on the belief that anyone is capable of change and can benefit from support in a non biased & nonjudgmental environment, allowing everyone to remove their filter and work through any type of adjustment or problem.
"Everything is subject to change."
